The cellular war

Posted by Ali Kitabi in June 11th 2009

Apple has again come to the forefront with its new iPhone 3G - S. A much faster phone and at a reduced price. Apple iPhone lost to Research in Motion’s Blackberry Storm in the bid to become the top phone in the US in the first quarter. Apple is in high regards with its 50,000 applications to back up the phone but it was indeed the pricing factor and availability with different wireless operators that gave Blackberry the lead.

With its latest release Apple has again set the $199 mark but with a new phone and again AT&T as its provider. Many recent iPhone 3G buyers are complaining about the fact that they would have to pay the same amount of money or even more to get an upgrade.

Blackberry’s Storm as compared the newest Apple iPhone 3G-S already has a powerful camera with video recording at the same price. Will the iPhone 3G-S take the lead in the second quarter is just wait and watch game.

To add to the war Plam Pre is also there with comparative features to iPhone 3G-S and Blackberry Storm. The choice for the customer is now being more difficult which more options, all of which are top quality.

The battle in on let see who wins the war in the end.

Photography - A unique world

Posted by Ali Kitabi in June 11th 2009

I am a hobby loving person and lately I have discovered that photography is what I love to do. I just have the nag of having these ideas. I first thought that photography is a simple business with those shoot and click cameras. Just point to a object and snap. There you are with a good looking picture. I have taken a lot of pictures and have a tendency to admire them. After all that ego comes in where it say that ‘I’ have taken it after-all.

I realized lately that this hobby of mine can turn into a good part-time business too. The idea snapped and off I went to google. I saw many videos and learnt a few things here and there. At first everything was going over the head as I had no idea what in the world these people were talking about. Patience played the game and slowly I tried to understand what all is photography about. Then I turned to the man’s best friend, ‘books’. My public library helped me a lot in this. I took all those books that sounded appropriate for digital photography and extended the return date before hand.

Within a few chapters my previous photographs stared to look like crap. Those were photographs that I once admired. I could easily find that what I did was not correct. I took my old digi-cam which has now become a bit buggy and started snapping again. This time taking into consideration what I had learned from the books and videos. Once again I went back to my old habit of admiring my pictures. This time I also got some encouragement from my colleagues whom I made the subject of my lenses.

I still hold my interest in this subject. I think this hobby is what I might take along for more time then any other. I am waiting on buying one of the Nikon SLR. Lets see when I get it.
